My name is Ajay Nair, I was born in 1991 in east London. I am currently studying at Brunel University, taking a degree in Journalism. I am also a music producer and rapper. I also shoot, direct and edit videos as well as dabbling in web design.
I first got into music at the age of 12, when I picked up Drums. By 13, I started writing and performing my own raps with my percussion group at school. It was around this age I developed an interest in music production, with softwares such as Reason and Logic. I then started learning keys. By 15 I had been earning money through freelance designing. I had also got the first music video I had shot onto the Channel U (AKA) playlist. And at 16 I had another video on the playlist for the channel. Around the age of 17, I had started earning money through music video production for a host of local artists. By then, my music had also achieved regular rotation on radio stations such as Club Asia and the BBC Asian Network. Now, I am taking a degree in Journalism and focussing my efforts towards a career in the media, whilst giving music a secondary role. I hope to combine my love and knowledge of music and the industry with my writing and my journalistic work.
